Self Indulgence

So I was just thinking about how my Twitter account has been lying dormant for a few months and then started thinking about Twitter in general. I used to stay pretty on top of Twitter, partially because I was working on a campaign to get a bill passed and was using the Twittersphere to help market the project. It's really a great way to spread information to a targeted audience. However, when looking at my personal Twitter page I realized that the whole thing can be rather self-indulgent. I've thought this from the get go and therefore would make the habit of posting relevant news articles and other interesting items I found on the internet. But isn't that a bit self indulgent too? I was obviously posting things that were interesting and witty to me, thereby indulging myself with "oh, look how smart I am for finding this witty news article". Alright, I'm probably exaggerating it a bit, but the point is: we all like the hear ourselves talk (or in this case, have people see what we wrote..ugh, typed). Which brings me to my next topic of discussion: facebook status messages. Facebook status messages are an incredibly great way to communicate these days. What better way to tell all of your friends about your current stress level, that new band you like, or that you painted your nails bubble gum pink. We all know it's silly to refresh facebook to see what new gem of information is going to pop up on the mini feed but we do it anyway. I try to limit my status updates and to not be too obnoxious but let's face, we're all a little annoying sometimes. Anyway, in the spirit of self indulgence, I have copied and pasted every one of my own facebook statuses (or, as I like to call them, stati) below. Apparently, the status message feature was created in October 2008.

So without further ado I bring you "My Life...in the form of stati". Go ahead, indulge me. (Name removed [since too much info on the interwebs is just a littttle creepy])
