From scratch

So this may not be a big deal for anyone else, but I must say I am quite proud of myself. See, I don't really *like* to cook. When I want to eat, I want to eat right that second (I guess this is a combination of not liking to cook and being really, really impatient in general). So, the following photo really is quite the big deal:



Someone had a birthday yesterday, and since I knew he liked coconut cake, I decided to make my first cake FROM SCRATCH. After enlisting the help of Paula Deen, my epicurean little sister, and a borrowed Kitchenaid mixer, I succeeded in making a very delicious 2 layer cake (with sprinkles! for added effect). Yum!
